Built in rural surroundings in the heart of
Cambridgeshire, this generously proportioned property
provides modern, light accommodation in a traditional
façade.
The high specification and our client’s
requirements for a well constructed dwelling meant the
attention to detail was paramount. |
|
The seven bedroomed house was constructed utilising
antique Falstaff facing bricks laid in snapped
header Flemish bond to provide an insulated cavity
wall with a block inner leaf.
Reconstituted stone copings capped the dutch
gables to provide the distinctive appearance.
Natural slate was used for the roof coving along
with cast iron rainwater goods to provide a long
lasting construction.
The plentiful use of glass provided an abundance
of light to the interior of the property, and the
galleried landing added to the feeling of spaciousness.
Underfloor heating is another feature of
the interior negating the need for exposed pipework
and radiators.
Our clients were delighted with the finished product
which provides a traditional working Farmhouse with
modern family facilities. |
