Built as an extension for the steel
stockist B & M Steel Work Ltd.’s Peterborough
depot. The warehouse extension provided 25%
more holding space and the addition of the offices
replaced the existing portacabin accommodation. |
|
The structure was founded on steel
cased piles, which supported the client supplied
steel frame. Unusually, within the warehouse
the floor was laid to granular stone, to minimise
damage to the steel stock. The offices are brick built with a curved roof,
which brought some interest into an otherwise
utilitarian building. |
